Intro paragraph

You've spent years excelling at work — managing teams, closing deals, making decisions under pressure. But internally, something feels off. Anxiety that won't quiet. A short fuse you can't explain. The sense that no matter how much you accomplish, it's never enough.

At Therapy & Mind, we offer evidence-based psychiatric care designed specifically for people like you — accomplished, driven, and quietly struggling. Our approach is unhurried, individualized, and built around long-term stability rather than quick fixes.

We serve clients across California and Washington via secure telehealth.

Comprehensive Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluations

Most people seeking psychiatric care have been to providers who spent 20 minutes with them and handed over a prescription. We do it differently.

Your initial evaluation is a 60–90 minute deep-dive into your symptoms, history, life context, and goals. We review everything — not just what's bothering you now, but the full picture of who you are. The result is a diagnostic formulation that actually makes sense of what you're experiencing, and a treatment plan built specifically for you.

Best for: Anyone seeking clarity after years of feeling "off," those with prior diagnoses they're unsure about, or anyone starting psychiatric care for the first time.

Medication Management & Ongoing Psychiatric Care

Medication, when appropriate, can be a powerful tool — but only when managed carefully. We take a conservative, evidence-based approach to prescribing. You'll never feel rushed into a medication or left wondering why you're on what you're on.

Follow-up sessions include ongoing monitoring of symptoms, side effects, and life circumstances. We adjust treatment collaboratively, not unilaterally.

Best for: Professionals on existing psychiatric medications who want more thoughtful oversight, or those open to exploring medication as part of a broader treatment plan.

ADHD Evaluation & Treatment

ADHD in high-achieving adults is frequently missed — because you've always found ways to compensate. But compensation has a cost: exhaustion, inconsistency, the feeling that you're always behind no matter how hard you work.

Our ADHD evaluation is structured and thorough, reviewing current symptoms, childhood history, and functional impact across home and work. Treatment options include medication, non-pharmacologic strategies, and coordination with therapists or coaches.

Best for: Adults who have always suspected ADHD, those previously diagnosed who want a second opinion, or professionals noticing attention difficulties affecting their performance.

Trauma-Informed Psychiatric Care

Trauma doesn't always look like a dramatic event. For many high-achievers, it looks like years of relentless pressure, emotional invalidation, or environments where vulnerability wasn't safe. The result is a nervous system stuck in overdrive — anxiety, irritability, numbness, or the chronic sense that something is about to go wrong.

Our trauma-informed approach integrates psychiatric treatment with EMDR and somatic techniques, addressing the root of what you're experiencing rather than just managing symptoms.

Best for: Professionals experiencing anxiety, mood dysregulation, emotional reactivity, or burnout with roots in unresolved stress or past experiences.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is one of the most researched and effective treatments available for trauma, anxiety, and PTSD. It works by helping the brain reprocess memories and experiences that are still driving distress — often in ways that traditional talk therapy can't reach.

Many of our clients have already spent years in therapy talking about their past. EMDR moves beyond the narrative and works directly with the nervous system. Sessions are structured, goal-directed, and typically produce results faster than conventional approaches.

Best for: High-achievers who know intellectually that they're safe but still feel reactive, on-edge, or stuck in old patterns.

Integrative & Complementary Support

Psychiatric care doesn't exist in a vacuum. Depending on your goals and needs, we can coordinate referrals and guidance for complementary approaches including:

  • Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

  • Somatic movement and yoga

  • Nutritional counseling

  • Acupuncture

  • Biofeedback

These approaches support — and are not a substitute for — your core psychiatric treatment.

Fees & Insurance

We are a cash-pay practice. We do not bill insurance directly, which means shorter wait times, complete confidentiality, and no insurance company involved in your care decisions.

ServiceFee

  • Initial Psychiatric Evaluation $450 – $600

  • Follow-Up Sessions $150 – $450

  • EMDR add-on session $250

Using your insurance: If you have a PPO or out-of-network plan, you may be eligible for 40–70% reimbursement on sessions. We provide superbills after each appointment, which you can submit directly to your insurer. We also recommend the Reimbursify app to simplify the claims process.
